Wednesday was a long day. Got up early and headed from Lake out to Hayden and then over and out via the West entrance. I then headed north on Route 191 to northwestern boundary of the Park and the Daly Creek Trail. This seldom mentioned part of the park has intrigued me lately. Perhaps the "seldom mentioned" part is the reason. I enjoy finding little known off the beaten path sites in whatever place I may be. Be it Yellowstone or anywhere in the country for that matter. So, I really would like to see more of the "thumb" of YNP if possible over the next few years. The hard part is finding people to hike with here. Anyway, I parked at the trailhead and decided to hike to where it intersects with the Black Butte trail. It's about 1.8 miles to get to that point. I saw 2 other cars so I felt somewhat more comfortable hiking alone. I do love the scenery in this area and would like to complete the loop trail someday. Anyway, for today just went 1.8 miles and then turned around and went back. I then had lunch at the Happy Hour Bar on Hebgen Lake ( a cool little "colorful" establishment - Not for the prude!! )
Then headed down to Tetonia, Idaho where I would be spending the next few days exploring the west side of the Tetons
