On Sunday, got up and cruised into the park around 6:20 I believe. Drove up the road heading north and stopped along the way at the Chocolate Pot Springs as I wanted to get some pics with the morning sun. If you've been there before you know you gotta climb down the hill ( gingerly I might add!! ) to get a real good view. So I've been there about 10 or 15 minutes and all of a sudden I hear something coming thru the woods. I look over and it's greywolf. Here I am at around 7:00 am in the middle of nowhere and I know the person who is coming by. Loons are everywhere!!! So, turned around and proceeded back south and stopped at Gibbon Meadows for a bit to check out the bison and some distant elk. Greywolf stopped by a few minutes later and we hung out for 15 minutes or so. I enjoy the Gibbons Meadow area. You got the meadow area with the river flowing thru and the thermal area off in the distance. Everytime I go thru I can't help myself but to stop for at least a few minutes. So, proceeded down to the Fairy Falls trailhead as we had a group hike setup for 11:00. I don't know how many of us showed up but it was a good amount. The weather was perfect for a hike. Had a great time seeing some old friends along with meeting some new ones. I'd like to say, so many times during this trip did the thought pop in my head that we all got a great thing going with the Loons and Ynetters. How we can get folks from all around the country and all around the world to get together and enjoy each others company and enjoy the Park with. Ok, thats enough of me being sentimental...the rest of the afternoon cruised around and stopped here and there.
