My last day in the park I did the Beula Lake trail in the very southern part of the park. One needs to leave the park and take the Grassy Lake Rd. about 9 miles or so to the trailhead. The first 3/8 or 1/2 mile are uphill until you reach the boundary and re-enter the park. The rest of the trail is fairly level and enjoyable. It was very dark and overcast this day but what can you do. The lake itself is a little less than 3 miles from the trailhead. I hear it is a popular place to fish for grayling. There also was a note on the trailhead sign that a Grizzly sow and 2 cubs were spotted on the far side of the lake. That's just what I needed to read!!...anyway, made it to the lake and hung out and had a couple granola bars before making my way back. I would recommend this hike to anyone. A good short hike with no crowds off the beaten path
