We continued down from Folsom through more meadow and deadfall before crossing the headwater of Blacktail creek. By this time it was getting late. We were losing sun and getting dehydrated. We stopped briefly at the creek to rehydrate with some filtered water. We followed a game trail down to what remains of the road that passes the cabin and barn about 1/2 mile above the loop road. We exited the trail at about 10 pm tired, hungry and happy after trekking approx. 17 miles through bear management areas that are closed for most of the year. This hike took 15 hours but was worth every minute. Sign me up for next year.
