    DAY 13,Aug. 22
We crossed the Tetons west of Jackson and drove back to Montana through Idaho We stopped at Big Hole National Monument, where the Nez Perce were attacked by the Army on their trek to escape being put on a reservation. This was prior to their escape route through Yellowstone.
    DAY 14, Aug. 23
Saw a little of Missoula before catching plane for flight to Salt Lake City and then on the St. Louis. It had been a pleasant two weeks. Animals I'd seen--rabbits, antelope, elk, pika, bison, chipmunks, black and grizzly bears, regular and ground squirrels, fox, deer, big horn sheep, moose. Birds I'd seen--magpies, hawks, ravens, trumpeter swans, eagles, ducks, white pelicans, woodpeckers, osprey, gray jays, Canada geese.
