We checked into the Old Faithful Lodge cabins, then spent the remainder of the day visiting gift shops and watching geysers. In the early evening we were walking near Morning Glory Pool when we heard several wolves howling. Although we couldn’t see them it was evident that they were very close. We continued walking towards Biscuit Basin when we heard the howling again. We stopped and were scanning the hillside across the Firehole River when we spotted a wolf. Then another, and another. Three total. This is a picture of the area. Yes there are 3 wolf dots in this picture. WE are SO into this place!

We headed back to the Lodge because a rain storm was headed our way. We almost made it the Lower Ham store before the skies opened up and dumped a lot of rain on us. We waited out the rain on the porch of the Lower Ham (the store was closed otherwise we would have had – you guessed it – ice cream).

We had dinner at the cafeteria a little later and while we sat there another rain storm began. The power in the cafeteria went off for about 20 minutes, but it was no big deal. Afterwards we stopped at the Snow Lodge. The piano player that is normally in the Old Faithful Inn lobby was entertaining the crowd in the lobby of the Snow Lodge. He was accompanied by a violinist. I believe the violinist is Tara, one of the geyser gazers. Anyhow the music was a perfect end to the day
