We spent a considerable amount of time watching a Black Bear at Elk Creek.
We drove into Cooke City and checked into the Alpine Motel, then headed back to the park. On the way in we stopped and chatted with Greywolf . We invited her to dinner but unfortunately she was working too late. We did promise to bring her some ice cream later. By the time we were out in Lamar Valley it was already getting pretty dark, so we looked for animals from the roadside. There was a group of people at what I think is called the coyote overlook, so we stopped. We saw JD there and talked for awhile. There was a report over the radio that there was a wolf and pup visible at Slough so most of the people left to go there. It was getting late so we stayed where we were. A nice gentleman pointed out a grizzly sow and two cubs way up on Specimen Ridge. Those were the only critters that we saw. Since it was getting dark we headed back to Cooke City, we saw a moose near Pebble Creek, and some cars were stopped in the middle of the road for a bear, but we didnít see it. When we arrived at Cooke City we went to Miners for pizza. It was about 10:15 at this point and too late to get Greywolf the ice cream we had promised her. We took the pizza leftovers to Greywolf and headed back to the motel. Called it a night around 11:30pm. We owe Greywolf some ice cream.
